People often ask if this All-Star or that All-Star will be remembered 30, 40 years from know. It’s a good question, and it helps illustrate how fleeting NBA stardom can be, even if it seems incredibly radiant at this very moment. But a more pertinent question is this: will anyone remember JaMychal Green three years after he retires?
The answer is obvious: no. Very few people who aren’t Grizzlies fans even remember him right now, and he’s basically in his prime. He’s the type of player that makes no impact on anyone, ever. He recently added a three-ball, which theoretically would help his cause, but it’s so low volume that it doesn’t matter. Other than that, he scores a bit, he rebounds a bit. Nothing flashy, EVER. He wasn’t drafted, so he’s not a bust. He can’t even gain Kwame Brown-esque notoreity.
He did make nine of nine shots tonight, though. That’s pretty cool.
