Remember when the Bulls had a sweet inter-team point guard battle going on between Kris Dunn and Jerian Grant? Early in the season they looked to be about equal; now Dunn has so thoroughly crushed Grant that his brother Jerami is feeling it all the way over in Oklahoma City.
Dunn took over the game tonight for the Bulls in the fourth quarter. He’s done that before, but now he’s done it again, this time with more points than ever. Is he the Bulls… go to scorer? He pretty much has to be, with him the Bulls finally have someone who can semi-reliably create their own shot. In Dunn’s case, it’s often a midrange pullup. A surprisingly money midrange pullup.
I’m wondering how he went from “seriously looking like a bust” to “competent and sometimes even more than that” in the span of one offseason. The pessimist in me (which is like 95%) would say steroids. Horse steroids with the consistency of glue injected directly into his buttocks with huge hypodermic needles. But that’s not realistic, since steroids don’t fix people’s broken jumper or bad court vision. The real answer is… who the heck knows. All I know is that I’m going to pretend I never called him a bust and I suggest you all do the same.
