REVENGE GAME ALERT. REVENGE GAME ALERT.
TREY LYLES JUST HAD A REVENGE GAME AGAINST THE JIZZ.
ALERT.
I won’t say that the trade that sent Trey Lyles away to the Nuggets isn’t working out for them, because Donovan Mitchell is a beast, but I will say that the Jazz shouldn’t have given up on Lyles so easily. Or something. Maybe not. I don’t know. He did kind of suck for them, and his emergence for the Nuggets has caught everyone by surprise.
The Nuggets must have seen something in him (or in Tyler Lydon, the other component of the trade), but they didn’t show their confidence in him to start the season, playing him sparingly in the first 10 games of the season. Only when Paul Millsap went down did he really start showing some things, and now it turns out he’s one of the better bench scorers in the league.
Tonight Lyles exacted sweet revenge against the team that threw him to the curb. While Donovan Mitchell played passively, he and Tyler Lydon combined for 26 points. 26 points and one mammoth hammer dunk that was mostly Lyles and not much Lydon.
