Frank “Tiliki Torch” Ntilikina has already developed a rapport with Kristaps Porzingis, but what about the other Knicks players? If there is a rapport developed with, say, Doug McDermott, I haven’t detected it yet. I guess it doesn’t matter in the end because Ntilikina/Porzingis is basically the core (add Hardaway if you want) moving forward and everyone else can fend for themselves. Having your two most important pieces on the same page is more important than making sure Courtney Lee is happy.
Much like Jarrett Jack, Ntilikina is presumably feeling the heat from the recently signed and absolutely pissed Trey Burke. Burke is ready to prove himself, and might still have some upside left to take minutes away from him. Might is the key word there, because there’s a reason he was cast away from the league after his rookie deal finished. But he was a high pick himself, and dudes don’t just get picked that high for no reason.
In Ntilikina’s case, the reason was that his wingspan was effin’ insane. Why isn’t he averaging more blocks? The once he had tonight were devastating.
