Tim Hardaway Jr. was relatively un-clutch in this one, missing two free-throws with thirty seconds left that would have put the Knicks up by five. Instead, they went into the next possession only up by three, and the only thing that saved them was the Jazz missing three separate wide-open three-pointers. Then he sunk two free-throws with nine seconds left, partially re-instating his clutchness but not really because 1.) what he did was so un-clutch and 2.) clutchness doesn’t exist on a game-to-game basis.
Late-game choking aside, THJ had a great game. Basically he could shoot anything he wanted and it would go in. With Kristaps Porzingis heavily slumping, Hardaway’s consistent scoring threat will be important if the Knicks really want to get back into the playoff picture. If you go back and re-read the last few sentences, does that not sound like something a real NBA writer would write? See, I don’t necessarily have to write unfunny garbage all the time.
