I wondered what it would feel like when Malcolm Brogdon scored a ton of points. It had never happened before tonight, so now my curiosity is sated: it feels the same as when he scores a middling amount of points. Dammit!
This is not a definitive finding. There are still more tests to be run. For example: what does it feel like when he scores a ton of points while not making twenty-gajillion layups? I don’t know, but I bet it would feel at least a little more exciting than this. Granted, Brogdon, unless he’s posterizing somebody, is not an exciting player. That triple-double he had his rookie year was cool, but was buoyed significantly by him managing to dime Steve Novak. My hype for Novak definitely bled into my hype for that particular performance.
Still, 32 points. That’s nice. An amount of points that a ROY winner should be able to score. The Bucks needed all of it and even more from Khris Middleton to barely beat the Suns, but that’s without Giannis. Any win without Giannis should be considered a major upset because every time he gets subbed out I think the other team is guaranteed to go on at least a 10-0 run before he’s forced to sub back in.
