I was expecting more from Buddy Hield this season. Straight up. He finished the season so well after getting traded to the Kings, I at least thought he would keep that up. Obviously I’m a huge dumbo for (for once) actually being optimistic about a player. That’ll teach me, right? From now on, everyone’s a bust who is only going to get worse until they average 20 a game. And even then. Nothing but glass-half-empty for me from here on out.
I don’t care that the whole difference in his scoring compared to last year is that he’s getting fewer minutes. There must be something going on with him, like he’s got some serious flaws that I’m not aware of, because there’s got to be a reason why the garbage-ass Kings aren’t playing him as much as possible.
Let me tell you, the 12-foot tall purple Buddy Hield statue that is currently residing in my apartment is not happy about this at all. He keeps making me watch Kings games on my computer and then when he sees that Hield is on the bench he starts looking all droopy and making vaguely sad-sounding noises.
