The votes are in, and Nikola Jokic didn’t get selected for the All-Star game. No surprise there. Even the most ardent Jokiphiles had to admit that 16/10/5 on reduced efficiency from his previous year (a year that was maybe, very maybe, All-Star caliber) was not going to be enough. He’s so far out of the conversation that I don’t think I’ve seen even one person claim that he was snubbed.
Credit where credit is due for that. I’m still sitting here fuming that Khris Middleton wasn’t selected, you’d think at least one Nuggets homer would be writing angry internet posts about the subject. Maybe they are and I’ve just missed it.
And since Jokic is still not an All-Star, I can keep doing his highlights! You can complain all you want, but 16 points per game, no matter what else he’s doing, that’s not very many. He only scored 18 tonight, again not taking very many shots (seriously you’re gonna let Porzingis out-shoot you like that????), but he dished a ton of sweet dimes to make this one of the better Jokic vids of the season. And if it turns out that he had 11 assists, I totally already have the questionable one in there. I think they gave it to him and then quick took it away. I’ll let you figure out which one it was (hint it’s the one where Trey Lyles takes a million dribbles and shoots a jumper off the glass).
