Forget about Trey Lyles for Sixth Man of the Year. That was dumb of me to even suggest, and I’m deeply apologetic. What I really meant to say was maybe Michael Beasley should win Sixth Man of the Year?
If he played more minutes, I think he’d be the favorite. He’s scoring in bunches of bunches right now, and the only thing holding him back is the binding chains of one Jeff Hornacek who seems to have some sort of vendetta against him. Here’s the deal: the Knicks aren’t going to go to the playoffs this year. Sucks, but that’s how it is. So why not pad Beasley’s stats by not starting him, then subbing him in on the first dead ball, and letting him chuck as many shots as he wants until Porzingis decides he wants to chuck shots as well? Everybody wins, except for the other Knicks players who would only rarely get to touch the ball in this scenario.
