Kyle Korver and J.R Smith were supposedly “emotional” after being told recently that they weren’t going to be in the rotation anymore. “Emotional” means two different things for those guys. For Korver, it probably means deep sadness but also understanding. For Smith, it means finding the chunkiest can of Campbell’s Chunky soup in the whole locker room and chucking at it Larry Drew.
For Rodney Hood, the emotions upon hearing the fate of his two position-mates were likely something along the lines of “I can finally chuck to my heart’s content while not having to worry about wins, just what I always wanted”. It’s easier not to puke before every game if you can convince yourself that winning is a remote possibility in the first place no matter how well you play.
Jokes on him, because his team won tonight. Yes, it was against the Hawks whose win total will probably be in the negatives by the end of the season, but it’s still a win. A decisive one, at that. And he led the way. Honestly, this is what Cavaliers fans deserve after having so many years of LeBron.
