Trae Young 24 Points Full Highlights (10/30/2018)

Trae Young against the Cavaliers this year: 59 points. Trae Young against every other team in the league this year: 75 points.

That’s a shame, because I really thought the first number would be bigger than the second. That would’ve made a really sweet point about how bad the Cavs’ defense is and how Young can only do his thing against bad defenses. I guess the point is still sort of made, since the numbers are kinda close, but I was hoping for a Luke Kornet versus the Raptors situation.

I’m happy to see Young already doing things so early in his career. The way he looked in the exhibition games this summer, I was having some slight doubts, and maybe some of those doubts are still valid. His three-point percentage isn’t very good, because his shot selection is awful, but they’ll start going in eventually or he’ll stop shooting and them and wait until next year to unleash his Curry-range (used to be called Jimmer-range god damn it).

Only 4 assists tonight? Doesn’t matter. Three of them were for easy Alex Len dunks, and a PG who can get his big a few of those per game is more valuable than one who spams perimeter passes to contested jumpers. Young has some nice chemistry with Len already, as well as Miles Plumlee (sorta). That’s another good thing, the ability to make bad players look better than they really are. Do you think that Plumlee would ever score if not for him? Probably not.
