Even with that 14-three performance, Klay Thompson has made fewer threes this season than Joe Harris, which lends credence to my theory that Harris could be just as good as Thompson if he was on the Warriors instead. This is a hard theory to do empirical testing on, but I’ve seen enough of both players to think that it holds water. When Thompson leaves in free agency this offseason, I want to see the Warriors wing a trade for “The Lumberjack” (bad nickname, sorry Nets commentators but you need to try harder).
For now, he gets to be an underrated sharpshooter on one of the more irrelevant teams in the league. That’s fine by me. Nets fans know how good he is, I know how good he is, and that’s all that matters. The rest of the league can sleep on him until he shows up in the playoffs (I believe in the Nets this year) and drops 30 on Kawhi Leonard in the first round. That’s an OFFICIAL DTB PREDICTION, by the way. I haven’t been doing enough of those this year.
