Does Malik Monk look way older this year to anyone else? Last year he looked like a kid, running around having fun playing his favorite game. Now he looks like a grizzled vet with a wrinkly face and dour demeanor. Maybe I’m just misremembering what he looked like last year and am assigning appearance characteristics to him based on the fact that he was a rookie. I don’t think so, though.
He’s playing less like a rookie this year, that’s for sure. He’s still the same shot-happy uber-athlete, just with higher percentages and more confidence from his coach. Steve Clifford is doubtlessly sitting in his posh Orlando condominium and steaming that he isn’t able to ruin Monk’s career anymore, and has to settle for ruining Mo Bamba’s.
I was surprised to see that the Hornets lost this one; they were up by so much! What happened? I was all ready to anoint them the 8th seed but now I don’t even know if I can do that.
