D’Angelo Russell 21 Points/6 Assists Full Highlights (11/4/2018)

I feel like D’Angelo Russell is slipping into obscurity with the Nets. Even though he’s in a big market and his draft position hasn’t changed (he was taken second overall in the 2015 draft and that isn’t likely to change), the expectations that were on him in Los Angeles don’t seem to be there anymore. It’s like everybody’s come to the conclusion that he is what he is, and he’ll never be a franchise cornerstone like people hoped.

If Russell wants to vault himself back into the national spotlight, he needs to take covert locker-room videos of his teammates confessing their infidelity. It’s just that simple. Everybody freaked out last time Russell pulled this trick, and it was all anybody would talk about for like a week or two. People eventually let that one go, but Russell shouldn’t want them to let it go. He should want the conversation to be about him at all times. That way, his terrifying slide into irrelevance can be transformed into an exhilerating roller coaster of leaked news, phone-captured video, and armchair moralists making angry internet posts.

The only problem is, I’m not sure if any current Nets players are cheating on their wives/girlfriends, and if they are, I’m also not sure that they’d be willing to divulge those details to a player who has been known to take videos of such confessions. Russell will have to keep his eyes/ears open and maybe do a little prodding with teammates who he feels like might be constantly banging side-chicks.

If filming adulterous teammates doesn’t work, I have another suggestion that could work just as well, even though it’s an unproven technique: start beef with a teammate. Specifically, start beef with Jared Dudley. On Twitter. And when Russell announces on Twitter that he has beef with Dudley, he should use the phrase “this dude so fat he probably take my beef and eat it for himself”. Attacking a teammate’s weight problems is exactly the kind of classless and immature act that would get people talking about D’Angelo Russell again.

In case you’re wondering, yes, I have already sent my proposals to Russell for his review and implementation.
