What happened to the Pelicans? They’re still my darkhorse WCF team, because they always will be, forever and ever until the earth splits in two and demons emerge from hell to torment us for eternity, but it’s looking less likely than at the start of the year. That 149-point drubbing of the Kings (rereading that it sounds like they beat the Kings by 149 which probably has happened) set my, and others, expectations sky high.
Something has changed since then, and I don’t know what it is. My best guess is that Anthony Davis has finally seen the writing on the wall and has checked out until he can be traded to the Lakers. That was a joke, but even then, I shouldn’t be saying stuff like that, not as a fan of a small market team with a superstar that every team wants. I’m sorry. I will never insinuate anything of the sort again.
If that happened we could see Julius Randle have his own team, though. That would be fun for about five games before it started being annoying instead. I guess I should mention that he went 10/10 tonight from the floor tonight, which is really efficient, bigman or not. Who knows what he gave up on the other end, I don’t, because defense doesn’t concern me and I don’t concern myself with defense.
