I disapprove of the way things are being done in Canada. Their list of sins is too long to even be numbered, much less typed out in full (remember, YouTube has a 5000-character limit on video descriptions), so I will only go into depth about the sin at the top of the list. It is so sinful that I just double-checked the Bible and had my mind blown that it wasn’t included as any of the seven deadly sins. Nor was it covered by any of the ten commandments. This failure of Christianity’s holy book calls into questions its usefulness as a tool to determine and arbitrate modern-day morality, but that’s another discussion for another day. The sin in question was:
THE SIN OF NOT SHOWING ADEQUATE REPLAYS OF DUNKS
The Raptors broadcast showed plenty of replays of Anunoby’s non-dunk baskets. That’s cool. I can dig that. But I was flummoxed and enraged when I could not easily locate replays of his converted slam dunks. These weren’t pansy slam dunks either. These were powerful and dominating dunks of the highest quality. One of them, OG pounded the ball so hard through the rim that I thought it would get stuck in the hardwood. The ball could have killed a small child if the small child had the benefit of exceptionally unlucky timing and walked right under it as it was dunk.
I have half a mind to just go up to Canada to show them the American way of showing dunk replays, since Wisconsin isn’t even that far from Canada, but they cancelled my passport a few years ago for smuggling illegal Vancouver Grizzlies VHS tapes over the border and every time I try to appeal, they laugh in my face. Not cool, Canada.
