Let’s just lay it all out so people don’t get their hopes up: there are hardly any spin moves in this video. One game after dismantling the Kings with spin after spin, Pascal Siakam only did one half-hearted 360 degree rotation leading to points. I was all set to overlay the song “You Spin Me Round” by Dead or Alive onto this vid, because of how appropriate it would’ve been, but I had to change my plans. Maybe next time. If he keeps the spinning up after tonight’s disappointing performance, perhaps I can convince him to make it his official theme song.
Speaking of which, not enough NBA players have official theme songs. But that’s a problem for another day. Right now, we’re talking about Siakam scoring more points than he ever had before (in the NBA, who cares what he did before that).
In lieu of spin moves, he hit some threes. Those are pretty cool too, especially considering how awful he was at them last year. The Giannis comparisons have now been thrown entirely out the window. Could Giannis hit three triples in one game? Heck no, he’s had the whole season to hit that many and can’t. We need a new comparison for Siakam now. It can’t be Kawhi Leonard, however tempting that may be.
Also the comparison player has to be white because otherwise people will accuse us of not thinking outside the box for a comparison and being lazy be defaulting to skin color. Just to make our job a little tougher.
