This video was ruined (RUINED I SAY) by the fact that the commentators never really wanted to talk about Al-Farouq Aminu. And by the fact that seven of his points were scored in what I would consider to be “The Time of Garbage”. But back to the commentary. These ESPN talking heads were too busy being obsessed with LeBron passing Wilt in the all-time scoring list to realize that the best forward on the court (Aminu) was having his best game of the season.
I just checked and Aminu only has to score roughly 27,000 more points in his career to surpass Wilt. And everybody’s freaking out like LeBron actually accomplished something? Psssh. Aminu’s only 28. He’s got, like, a decade and a half to score those points and he’s already got over 4,500, which is over 10% of the way there.
Some news outlets are too afraid to report the real facts. They are driven by narratives that they know will sate the public’s hunger for palatable, easy-to-digest storylines. Only true standard-bearers like DTB are unafraid to confront, and disseminate, the truth.
