Allegedly Bryn “Brynk of Insanity” Forbes is playing point guard at least some of the time for the Spurs. That’s what the TNT dude said anyway. I didn’t watch enough of this game to say if Forbes actually did anything that was point guard-esque, but I am reluctant to believe he did.
By the way, this is the new trend if you haven’t noticed. Forming opinions without watching the games. It saves so much time. You should try it.
Anyway, the Spurs are still without a decent point guard, so it makes sense to take every shooting guard on the roster and try to get them to handle the ball a bit more. But taking the ball up the court and immediately giving it to Aldridge or DeRozan doesn’t make you a point guard. If you did that every possession, I would argue that you wouldn’t even need anybody to pretend to be a point guard. You would just play without one.
My proposal is for the Bucks to trade Matthew Dellavedova (a real point guard who would immediately get 25 minutes per game at least) and Thon Maker (Boban replacement) to the Spurs for Davis Bertans (marginalized). I don’t know how I do it, but I’m just a master at coming up with these great trades where both teams come out ahead.
