Emmanuel Mudiay has been playing… sorta decent lately? I’m not going to get into how suspicious it is that he starts playing good right as Trey Burke starts playing bad, and then takes his minutes. I will leave the speculation for another day (if you want a teaser, do you remember that part of Space Jam where the aliens stole the NBA players’ powers?).
He’s been playing so decent in this stretch that I wouldn’t be surprised if some team comes in next year and gives him a small deal. Nothing too big, but maybe bigger than the vet min? There’s (usually) always a team who’s willing to try a reclamation project on a former hyped prospect. I mean, isn’t that what the Knicks are doing right now with him and Burke?
I also wouldn’t be surprised if he just went to Europe/China and we never heard from him again. Maybe occasionally we’d catch wind of him scoring 70 against utterly inferior competition (that would be China, not Europe), maybe we’d even get some super pixelly highlights of it happening. Which reminds me, I need to go get my weekly fix of Sim Bhullar Taiwan league highlights.
