How is Danilo Gallinari only 30? He’s been in the league for the whole time I’ve been paying attention, normally guys like that are retiring or fading out already. Not him. He’s (almost) better than ever.
I supposed I was fooled by how unathletic (attention Firefox developers: “unathletic” is absolutely a word so don’t red squiggle me like that what other word could there be for “not athletic” god damn) he looked (and sorta continues to look) after his injuries. Torn knee ligaments have a way of making a dude seem five years older than he really is. Sorry Gallo. Double sorry Jabari Parker and Davis Bertans.
For those curious about how Gallo is doing on his free throws, I have sad news to report. After 9 straight games without a miss, 50+ in a row, he’s missed one in three of his last four games. He didn’t miss tonight, so perhaps this is the start of a new streak, but I’m sad that Jose Calderon’s record might be out of reach already. The difference between 95 percent and 98 percent may not seem that big, but even one miss sets things back significantly. That’s how math works, I’m pretty sure.
