Victor Oladipo status: irrelevant.
Aaron Holiday status: ascendant.
I know I’m not the only one who forgot that Oladipo existed during this blowout win against the Jizz. They cut to him after Holiday made a sick stepback midrange jimbo, showing him shaking his head, and I thought “oh yeah, Oladipo, that’s who the Pacers have on their team who is good”. But he was shaking his head because he knew, HE KNEW, that he could never do the move that Holiday had just done ever. Not in a million years. He was shaking his head because he knew that his time as the big man on campus in Indiana had come to a tragic end. What can a man do but grimace as he watches his kingdom disintegrate around him?
Meanwhile, Holiday is a man on the rise. After racking up nine straight DNPs he’s scored 12 and 19 in the last two games. At the rate he’s improving, he’ll fully match Oladipo’s production by next game, surpass it the next after that, and then start Wilting the league up on a regular basis. And we can all sit and speculate why McMillan kept him glued to the bench for so long.
