Luckily I was making highlights while the second half of this game was going on so I didn’t even have to get happy that the Bucks went on a 14-0 run late in the game and then get sad that they didn’t score again and then get even sadder as Jamal Crawford toasted Malcolm Brogdon for the game-winning jimbo and then turn into a molten puddle of pure morosity after Khris Middleton’s game-winner was reviewed and found to be after the buzzer. All those emotions were absent from my psyche, replaced with the comforting warmth that comes with uploading highlight videos to YouTube.
So yeah, this was a sad loss for Bucks fans other than me. The Suns aren’t as bad as their record, or maybe just their top talent isn’t as bad as their record, and the Bucks probably didn’t take them seriously enough. Also, Brook Lopez probably should’ve stopped shooting after his 7th or 8th miss from three. But Giannis was great, so that’s fine, and Brogdon was his usual steady self.
There are isolated pockets of Bucks’ fandom where people think Malcolm Brogdon isn’t even that good. This will not stand! Yeah, his on-off stats and RPM and all that fancy stuff say he’s the least effective of the starters, but have you seen him finishing around the rim this year? He just slices right in there and lays it up. Plus, he can shoot threes and he can really shoot free-throws (the shade Middleton was throwing on him when he took the technical free throw instead of the 97 percent foul shooter was intense, potential locker room conflict????).
