Jonas Valanciunas 27 Points Full Highlights (3/10/2020)

Jonas Valanciunas has always had very vibrant eyes. In every thumbnail image I make of him, as long as his face isn’t in shadow, his eyes stand out like two little beams of light emanating from the area between his mouth and forehead. I’d put him at a solid 9.0 on the EVI (eye vibrancy index), right behind Ricky Rubio at 9.5 and Wayne Selden at a perfect 10.0 (what happened to that guy anyway?).

This thumbnail image in particular is a bit freaky. Do Valanciunas’ eyes look gold to anybody else? They’re like the color of pure gold bars under a very bright light. And, now that I think about more deeply about the matter, it makes sense that Valanciunas’ eyes would be that color, because it’s the same color that’s found at the top of the Lithuanian flag.

That gloriously waving tricolor of gold, green, and red not only signifies the proud strength of the Lithuanian people, but it is those colors that form the very core of Valanciunas’ Lithuanian essence. The gold of his eyes, the red of his blood, the green of his…foot fungus?…each color on that flag is mirrored in Valanciunas’ body. Just as that flag is flown from the tallest pinnacle of Lithuania’s governmental buildings, so too is Valanciunas’ body the pinnacle of male beauty and strength.
