While watching Bucks games recently, I’ve found out that I can’t really tell Thon Maker and Tony Snell apart if they’re on the court together. One of them is taller than the other, but it’s hard to tell when the camera is so far away and they’re both running around like chickens with their heads cut off. It doesn’t help that Snell has had a few blocked shots recently and Maker has been canning threes. This didn’t used to be a problem. It used to be Maker would never play so I didn’t have to worry about it. Only solution: trade Snell back to the Bulls for MCW (oh god I was kidding please no please please no god oh no).
If the Bucks imploding means more minutes for Maker, then I’m all for it. The Bucks weren’t going to do anything in the playoffs anyway, they can pretend they’re tanking or whatever, and Maker can get his not-very-well-earned minutes. Is there any reason he should be getting more minutes than Greg Monroe, like he did this game? No. Not unless the team in question is, if not deliberately trying to lose game, at least playing substandard rotations.
Maker did some good things tonight even as everyone else sucked. Well, he himself also sucked for a lot of the game but those three triples he hit in rapid succession made everyone forget. Three blocks early, three triples late, an oop from Delly in between, I can almost ignore Giannis’ crappy game.
