It’s been almost a whole season now, and I still can’t figure out why the Thunder would trade away Ersan Ilyasova. The only semi-plausible reason I can come up with is that it had to do with Enes Kanter and politics. That’s all I’m saying about that. You think I want to get put on some list by the Turkish government? The only list they have that has me on it is the one called “Sick YouTube Channel Owners”. I’m proud of that accomplishment, BTW, because that list only has like 10 other names on it.
It’s too much to hope that Ilyasova has found a permanent home in Atlanta. I think his days of staying with one team for more than two years are over. Every team, especially every contending team, thinks they need a player like him. Then they get him, and he end up providing more value by trading him because some OTHER team really wants him. Make sense? It doesn’t, because I suck at presenting my thoughts in a coherent way, but believe me, it totally made sense in my head.
