Allonzo Trier 23 Points Full Highlights (11/2/2018)

I was not previously aware of the nickname “Iso Zo” for Allonzo Trier. I like it! Who came up with it? I want to shake their hand and say “you did a good job of creating that nickname”. If I was assigned that task, I would’ve come up with something lame like “Ball-onzo” or “Funk Machine”.

He certainly did a lot of iso-ing tonight. “Shaking and baking” as Mr. Frazier would say. Or “moving and grooving”, although I don’t know if those are exactly the same concepts. Anyway, it’s a good sign that the way he played in college transfers almost directly to the NBA. So many players find that the moves that used to dominate suddenly become useless against superior competition.

This is the point in the description where you wonder sarcastically “but are the Mavs ‘serious competition'” and then chuckle to yourself for being so clever.

Regardless of opponent quality, 23 points in the NBA is legit. There are lots of players who’ve never scored that amount, and a lot more who took a few years to do so. But here’s Trier, just going out there and doing it like it’s no big deal.
