Derrick Rose is averaging 19 points per game this season. That seems really high, considering how done everyone (especially the Jazz) thought he was last year, but it’s only a little bit more than what he averaged in New York two years ago. I don’t know why I have the impression that he’s been totally washed up for years now, when that’s not the case. I mean, he wasn’t that good and he hasn’t been helping good teams win games for a long time, but it’s not like he’s Vince Cartering it out there. He can still do stuff.
It might just be me, although the internet-breaking reaction to his 50-point game makes me think that I’m not the only one with a warped sense of how good he can still be. Not like the reaction was unreasonable. That’s going to be one of the most memorable moments of the 2018-19 season, if not the most memorable. How many tears were shed over that? A bunch, but none by me, because I’m a big manly man and I keep my emotions bottled up inside like how a big strong man should.
Just kidding, I teared up a little bit (just a real little bit though I’m not some sort of pansy). This video does nothing for me in comparison. 21 points? YAWN. That’s par for the course for him these days.
