Steven Adams has never struck me as a guy you give the ball to and say “hey, go get us a bucket”. That’s not his game. His game is receiving lobs from Russell Westbrook. Well, I’m not seeing Westbrook around anymore, so I guess that means Adams’ true scoring potential has been unleashed? Maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised, but he absolutely cooked Deandre Ayton tonight. Ayton was hacked up for barbecue by Adams’ devastating post moves.
I really want to comment on how the Thunder don’t even need Westbrook anymore, but I’m going to wait a few more games before coming up with nonsensical trade ideas. Here’s a teaser for you though: Thon Maker. Just kidding, you think I want Westbrook’s chucky ballhog antics tainting Giannis? FOH.
My first thought when I saw this performance show up on the stock ticker I modified to show me highlight-worthy statlines instead of stock prices and installed around the perimeter my apartment was “career high oh yeah baby”. It’s not. One short, which sucks because he totally could’ve gotten one more bucket. Does he not realize what his career high is so he can go and break it?
