Montrezl “Czlgzry” Harrell actually had an inefficient shooting game by his standards (only shooting 7-of-14, or 50%, from the field), but the ineffective Grizzly opposition couldn’t stop fouling him, so he ended up with a decent amount of points regardless. He’s still leading the league in win-shares/48 (my favorite stat ever, even more favorite than dunks per game, which Harrell is probably also doing well in) and is third in field goal percentage among qualifying players, so any game where he’s not hyper-efficient is going to look like a bad game for him.
How much better does Harrell have to play in order to unseat Marcin Gortat as the starter for the secondary Los Angeles team? Does Gortat have some super special secret attributes that I’m not aware of that make him an obvious choice to start over the more effective Harrell? Is Doc Rivers a puppet for the Polish mafia or does he just hate players who can dunk a lot since he himself was never a prolific dunker?
Here’s my vision for the Clippers’ rotation, which is based only on my emotions and not on real-life knowledge: start Harrell, play Boban the rest of the center minutes, banish Gortat to Poland, play Teodosic thirty minutes a game, re-sign Jamil Wilson, and trade Tobes to the Bucks for Thon Maker.
