Another day, another fanbase full of bandwagon casual fans convinced that Nikola Vucevic is the best center in the league. First it was the Lakers, now it’s the Warriors. It’s not enough to dominate games while no one is watching. You have to go in to that arena, get your dick out, slap it on the court with a mighty THWUMP like Lyndon Johnson and show everyone what they’re dealing with. Maybe my metaphor is a little crude, but that’s basically what Vucevic just did to the Warriors’ fanbase, right after doing it to the Lakers’.
There have been feeble trade rumors surrounding this guy for a few years now, but since no one besides Magic fans and half-delusional Internet commentators (me) know how good he is, there haven’t been any serious proposals. Maybe there will be now, but then again, it’s possible that the FO finally realizes that they have a bona fide beast on their hands and won’t give him up easily. But they must strike while the iron is hot, while the Warriors are feeling the sting of almost-defeat. The Warriors need a center, right? They can’t keep starting Damian Jones or Kevon Looney or whoever. Those guys aren’t game changers.
Vooch for Klay Thompson. Boom. Throw in some random stuff to make it work, the Warriors get their center and the Magic get an elite shooter to help space the floor or something. And if either team could take Thon Maker off the Bucks’ hands, that would be sweet. Don’t even need to receive anything back. Just take him.
