I once played some ball with a guy who claimed to have dunked on Vander Blue during a high school game. Like, poster style. He seemed like he was full of crap, and I couldn’t find video evidence of it happening, but maybe it did. He could dunk, anyway, which is more than I could ever hope to do. If you’re reading this, guy, I hope your ankles are feeling better after I broke them so many times.
Anyway, yeah, Vander Blue. Um. He played all 48 in the Lakers’ season finale, because the management just wanted to take a huge dump on whatever fans were still loyal enough to show up. “You wanted Kobe? You wanted Lin? HAHAHAHA you get Vander Blue and Jabari Brown for the whole game you fartknockers!”
Sorry. What I meant to say is that it’s cool that those two dudes got the opportunity to show their stuff in a “real” NBA game. In Blue’s case, 23 shots worth of stuff. If he had converted an average amount of those attempts, we’d be talking about way more points here, but given his inexperience, 6 made baskets and 15 points is still pretty good.
