It turns out all you need to do to get Luigi Datome to produce is to give him a starter’s role. Once you’ve done that, he turns into an angry-looking pizza-eating messiah figure, but instead of giving eternal salvation to all of mankind he just kicks all of their asses instead. The Man-Bun cometh!
I don’t know if the Man-Bun’s going to get minutes in the playoffs or not. Despite this nice performance and a couple others scattered about, he hasn’t been, realistically, all that good. Of course, that fits in well with the Boston Celtics as a whole this year, so maybe its just what they need.
That’s in the future, though. Gigi scoring 22 points is the present. Actually now the past. But still way more concrete of an event than whatever’s going to happen against the Cavaliers.
