George Hill browsed the internet as he did every morning, looking for mentions of his name on all the biggest websites and discussion forums. As usual, his search was mostly fruitless. On this morning, his text file of mentions only included three entries:
“George Hill and Jordan Hill on the same team is making me confused LOL”
“When I think of mediocre point guards, I think of Jrue Holiday and George Hill.”
“I would trade Knight for George Hill on the Pacers but I think they would laugh us off the phone tbh”
George wondered to himself what the problem was. The idiots on the internet couldn’t stop talking about Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook. What did they possess that he didn’t? Flashy athleticism? Flashy handles? Flashy dunks? Flashy teammates?
George knew he couldn’t compete with that. His hops only allowed him to execute the most basic of slam dunks and his teammates, aside from Paul George, were not very compelling to say the least. How could he separate himself from the pack, draw more attention to the steady completeness of his game?
By chance, he glimpsed a picture of Suns-era Jason Kidd sporting bleached-blonde hair. His eyes grew wide.
That was the answer.
