We haven’t heard much from Jusuf Nurkic so far this year. He was one of last season’s fun stories, a cocky shot-blocking giant from Bosnia who would get into it with anyone. This year, Denver’s fun story is Nikola Jokic, and general interest in the exploits of the Bosnian Beast is way down.
Injuries will do that to the best of players. Shooting 32%(????) on the season will also do that. I understand that returning from injury is tough, but 32 percent? That’s mind-blowingly bad for a guy who only does stuff around the rim. Looking at this video, you can kind of see why; some of these shots are just blind chucks at the rim. As an alternative to stuff around the rim, I remember that he flashed the ability to hit a jumper last year. Maybe if he can turn into Dirk Nowitzki or something that would be cool. A shot-blocking Dirk. Damn.
