Patrick “Tupat” Patterson is one of those players who just gets thrown in with deals. A trade sweetener. For good reason. He can shoot mid-range jumpers, and sometimes threes, at a pretty consistent rate. That right there is enough for him to stick in the league forever. Any team would want him, but he’s not especially needed.
Except I’m pretty sure Rockets fans miss him. They could really use a sweet-shooting power forward right now. People talk about how Morey is a genius, but he traded Patterson for frickin’ Thomas Robinson. Potential isn’t everything. Sometimes a player who can actually do things is the more valuable one.
