Ray McCallum Career High 22 Points/10 Assists/1 Dunk Full Highlights (3/31/2014)

DownToBuck is a man who admits when he is wrong.

I called Ray McCallum a “scrub” in the description of my last highlights of him. I rescind that proclamation. He is not a scrub. He is now, officially, a role-player bench guy.

An impressive leap for young Mr. McCallum! The “role-player bench guy” is a valuable type of player. His rise has been fast and unexpected. Well, maybe Kings fans expected it. In fact they probably did. They spent the entire season saying “Don’t sleep on Ray McCallum he’s gonna be a player!” in the same manner that every fanbase talks about their respective rookies.

His assist total was somewhat inflated by the fact that DeMarcus Cousins was an unstoppable nacho-cheese fueled maniac, but his scoring was impressive. Especially the little mini-run he had in the 4th quarter where he hit a bunch of fadeaways and pull-up jumpers without touching rim. I would even go so far as to say that he “took over the game”.

Is it too late for him to win Rookie of the Year?
