If you asked me before the season started how many minutes of highlights Spencer Dinwiddie would produce this year, I would have said “Maybe 2 or 3, if I edit it right”. It just seemed like he would be the kind of guy to get stashed in the D-League for almost the entirety of his rookie season.
Now my prediction would look wholly inaccurate. This right here is almost four solid minutes of pure Dinwiddie action, and the clips contained within are FROM A SINGLE GAME. Not a series of games, or all the games he’s appeared in this season. A singular 48-minute contest. Can you believe that? There’s even a clip where he put-back slams his own missed shot. Believe it or don’t.
Stan Van Gundy is truly the point guard whisperer. He turned Jennings into a good player, he turned Augustin into a good player. Reggie Jackson is likely too much of a cancer to heal, but Dinwiddie also looks decent under SVG’s tutelage. Though the Pistons’ Cinderella run is now over, we can still derive enjoyment from a random rookie PG going totes bananas.
