Reggie Jackson has his own team now. All the reasons that were offered as explanations for his suckiness in OKC no longer apply. Except for the biggest one, the one that keeps Pistons fans awake at night as their FO mulls a large contract offer.
That he just plain sucks.
Maybe sucks isn’t the right word. How about “not nearly worthy of the money he will presumably be paid”? Not as concise. Let’s go with sucks for now.
It’s true that the Pistons, at this very moment, need someone like Jackson to handle the ball and score a little bit. If they want to make the playoffs, that is. Otherwise I don’t see what’s so bad with riding Spencer Dinwiddie and John Lucas III the rest of the season, and waiting until Jennings comes back next year. Who cares if that would be the worst point guard rotation in the league? Pistons fans are used to unwatchable basketball by now.
