What would be better for Andrew Wiggins’ development: getting big minutes on a horrible team, or getting bench minutes on a playoff team? We can’t, and couldn’t ever, know, but it’s fun to think about. I lean towards the Cavaliers squashing his potential while the Timberwolves are unleashing it, but I’m biased because I love it when people score bunches of points.
Bunches of points has not been Wiggins’ modus operandi lately, as his team has faced a bunch of injuries, putting even more pressure on him to do stuff, and putting more attention on him from defenses. It’s been so bad that people are talking about Rookie of the Year going to someone else, after he had seemingly locked it up.
Someone get Rubio back as soon as possible.
