Julius Randle 22 Points Full Highlights (11/1/2015)

Advanced stats are all the rage nowadays. Simple box-score stats like points and rebounds are of little use to the modern NBA fan, who prefer inscrutable formulas and high-level analytics when determining the worth of a player. DownToBuck is no stranger to these concepts. Hence, I decided to cast my own hat into the ring, by coming up with my own proprietary stat: TIP/36.

Confused? You simpleton. TIP/36 stands for “Thumbnail Images Produced per 36”, and is one of the most comprehensive measures of a player’s quality that I have discovered.

Julius Randle is one of the league’s leaders in this new stat, very impressive for a player at such an early stage in his career. No matter if he’s agonizing after a missed free throw, grimacing after a hard foul, grinning after a dunk, or simply running around the court, he’s always good for a high-quality YouTube video thumbnail. Nerlens Noel, watch your back! There’s a new kid in town, and he has really googly eyeballs!
