Ersan Ilyasova and Scott Skiles have taken circuitous routes since Skiles’ coached Ilyasova in Milwaukee. Like them, the NBA and its assorted players and staff have taken similar winding roads, scattering themselves into configurations unimaginable just a few years ago. Now, as if by fate, Ilyaskiles are reunited in Orlando, ready to, if not take the league by storm, at least teach it how to shoot stepback three-pointers.
“The more things change, the more they stay the same.” – Some really wise dude
On a team full of young talent, ready to shine, Skiles played Ilyasova the most of anybody on the team this game, 30 minutes. In a location 1000 miles away from Wisconsin, he has demonstrated that he is still very capable of using the Turk Dirk to hold down the future in exchange for “wins” now.
