Whenever broadcasters talk about Michael Beasley, they talk about his “talent”, as if that’s the only thing he is: a player who possesses talent. That’s misguided and, frankly, insulting to B-Easy.
If I was a commentator, here’s what I would talk about: the fact that Beasley once pissed off LeBron James by eating ice cream using french fries as a spoon. I mean, is that or is that not the most hilarious thing ever? Beasley is such a spaz-out that he annoyed the BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD (at that time) by goofing off with his dinner like a seven-year-old. To me, this is a more important point than all this talk of “unrealized potential” and “the talent’s all there.” Who cares about the talent? He was scooping ICE CREAM into his mouth using a FRENCH FRY!
Every time I think about it, I actually chuckle out loud to myself. No joke. It wouldn’t surprise me if he spent the first half of that meal trying to get milk to shoot out of his nose.
