It seems almost quaint, now, looking back on it. How could we have ever thought that Will Barton’s blazing start to the season was in any way sustainable? I think we knew, deep down, that his jumper was still borked and his play was too inconsistent. In our heart of hearts, we fully realized that he would, at some point, revert to his usual bricky self. But is it a crime to want to believe?
I don’t know if he’s still going to win the Sixth Man of the Year award. He still has arguments, and there aren’t a ton of compelling challengers. If he can pick his play back up again, like he did tonight, I think he can still claim the accolade. Otherwise, Ryan Anderson is pretty good too.
