Austin “Worst Rookie PER Ever” Rivers is no longer in the running for the “worst player in the league” award, but he is definitely still in the running for the “player who gets minutes because of his famous last name” award. Trust me, these awards exist and I give them out every year. If you haven’t heard of them it’s because you haven’t been paying attention. I hold a banquet and give out trophies and everything.
Since it’s looking like Austin isn’t getting any awards this season (unless I make one up for him, which I wouldn’t do because I take my awards seriously), we’re just going to have to deal with the fact that he is currently a sub-mediocre player who has the potential to become slightly less mediocre.
