I used to not want for the Rockets to make the playoffs. Not for any particular dislike of them; I just like seeing good teams do bad (it means more scrub highlights). Due to unforeseen circumstances, my position has officially reversed. Now I want nothing more than for the Rockets to make the playoffs, and not that, but to go far in the playoffs. My rationale is simple. It’s so that the following sentence can be typed in all sincerity:
“Michael Beasley saved the Rockets’ season.”
That’s the kind of thing you go back in time two years and tell somebody all the things that happened in the future, and they don’t believe that or the fact that Adele ever released another album.
