With this 9-of-9* performance, Rudy Gobert pushes himself ever closer to the elusive mark of 70 percent field goal percentage for the season. He’s already best in the league in that stat because of DeAndre Jordan mysterious regression, but no one will remember a guy who shot 69 (lol) percent. They will remember 70. Forever.
That, combined with his surprisingly-decent foul shooting, his gaudy rebounding and block totals, and his general effectiveness on both ends of the court means that he should be an All-Star this year. This isn’t one of those times where I pretend to be really serious but I’m actually joking. I’m not being sarcastic. I’m for real right now. Give me one good reason that Gobert shouldn’t be an All-Star that doesn’t have to do with Mormons. Just one.
If the Jazz keep up their winning ways, they can’t leave him out. Right? Remember, Roy Hibbert was an All-Star playing exactly the same role that Gobert is.
*He had a alley-oop tip that hit rim that was credited as a turnover for Dante Exum instead of what it actually was, which was a missed shot.
