It’s that time of the season again: trade time! The deadline is coming up, and I figure that Tyreke Evans would be an attractive piece for some marginal playoff team to help solidify their rotation and maybe make a push for being a contender. I’ve got some scenarios that I’ve been working on, keep in mind that my brain is still totally scrambled after that Blake Griffin to the Pistons deal.
Trade 1: Tyreke Evans and Ivan Rabb to the Celtics for Gordon Hayward. There are rumors that Hayward will come back at some point, but I don’t believe them. I saw what he did to his leg, I saw it live, and I know there is no way he’s playing this year. Here’s what my sources tell me: his foot is still dangling just like when he first injured it. So it makes sense that the Celtics would move him for some immediate bigman help and Tyreke Evans. Can you say championship?
Trade 2: Tyreke Evans to the Kings for Vince Carter. You think Vince ever wanted to leave Memphis? Hell to the no. You think Tyreke ever wanted to leave Sac-town? Nuh-uh. They say two wrongs don’t make a right, but in this case, it totally does.
Trade 3: Tyreke Evans, Marc Gasol, and Wayne Selden to the Pistons for Tobias Harris, Anthony Tolliver, Andre Drummond, and two Detroit-style pizzas. This one is a really good deal for the Grizzlies; TWO pizzas. Not just one. TWO. I don’t see any reason why this deal can’t get done today, right now. Might have to move fast on it though. Tolliver is a hot commodity.
NEWS FLASH: apparently Tobias got traded so there goes that one. I said my brain was all messed up.
