As you can see, by this metric, Mitchell Robinson is the best rookie in the league. And you know it’s a good metric because I don’t have to think about trying to do my own rankings, I can just use basketball-reference. You also know it’s a good metric because it matches reality. Springy centers who dunk a lot are always high-value players. Robinson is springy, he’s a center, and he dunks a lot, so he’s already got value even though he’s fewer than ten games into his NBA career.
