George Hill never asked for this. He signed up to be a rock-solid PG on a championship team with LeBron James. He did not sign up to be a rock-solid PG for the worst team in the league.
If it makes him feel a little better, it’s possible that he’s the “best” player on the Cavaliers right now. He probably didn’t think that would ever happen in his career! He can walk around the locker room turning his nose up at everyone (especially Collin Sexton, apparently) for being worse than him. That probably doesn’t do much to soothe the stinging wounds of endless loss and misery, but it can’t hurt.
He kinda put the team on his back tonight, almost dragging them to the win before the refs showed up and were like “stop right there criminal scum”. But they can’t take away his three clutch shots in a row followed by a clutch assist, even if they can take away the W.
